50 Smartest Companies 2016 FAQ

What is MIT Technology Review’s list of the 50 Smartest Companies?

It is put together by the magazine’s editors to highlight companies that have displayed impressive innovations in the past year. It is not based on quantitative measures such as patents or R&D spending.

Are both private and public companies included on the list?

Can the same company be on the list in more than one year?

What is the time frame for choosing the list?

The editors are reviewing companies throughout the year; however, the final list is not chosen until April.

When should I send such a pitch?

Anytime.

What is the deadline?

There is none. We always want to hear about interesting companies.
